Editorial policy

You are here

The core direction of SGpatientreviews’ editorial policy is to provide a platform for Singaporean writers to publish their own unfiltered, honest opinions about healthcare in Singapore.

We believe that actual, real life experiences are the best way to introduce many different treatments and procedures to the wider public. We want to be a portal where everyone can relate their authentic experiences to others who might be considering to undergo those procedures.

All of our content is purely for the sake of information and is not intended to be a substitute for a medical diagnosis by a certified medical professional. Readers are advised to seek the advice of their physician in the event of any medical situation. Readers should not disregard the opinion of a certified physician even if it contravenes information they have garnered off sgpatientreviews.

1. Our Identity

SGpatientreviews is a platform for independent and freelance writers to publish their own writings and articles with an intention to educate and inform the wider reading public. We want to encourage active participation amongst the medical community and to provide a safe space for opinions and views to be aired.

We are in no shape or form a place for doctors or practitioners to unfairly promote themselves or their businesses, in accordance to the rules and covenants of the PHMC (Private Hospitals and Medical Clinics) Publicity Regulations Act.

2. Our Content & Content Providers

We allow submissions from the public and we have no prerequisites for contributors.

All submissions are thoroughly vetted by our editorial team to ensure that a high quality of content is represented on our website.

All submissions remain the property of the contributors. Sgpatientreview reserves the right to remove or edit aspects of all content posted on the website prior to/post publication.

Writers on sgpatientreviews are not allowed to promote medical services or express any form of salesmanship on sgpatientreviews that would be in violation of the PHMC (Private Hospitals and Medical Clinics) Publicity Regulations Act.

3. Standards and Ethics

We curate our content so that only facts and opinions grounded in medical science will be published. We do not endorse any content that cannot be at least argued from a scientifically endorsed medical standpoint (e.g. Faith healing, spiritual healing, extrasensory perception, etc.).  It is our mission to provide responsible and helpful articles to help our reader base make informed medical decisions and we do not wish to mislead anyone down a path that might be ruinous or harmful to their physical or mental wellbeing.

Our contributors are subject to our Terms of Service, and balance the presentation of verifiable facts with their own professional perspectives. Opinions are clearly stated as such.
